What is Gunpla?
Gunpla are plastic model kits that recreate the mobile suits, mobile armors, and battleships that appear in the "Mobile Suit Gundam" series. Since the "1/144 Gundam" was created in 1980, a cumulative total of 700 million units have been sold as of May 2020, marking its 40th anniversary.
To ensure a commitment to quality and responsiveness to the market, Gunpla are now planned, developed, and produced entirely in Japan at the "Bandai Hobby Center" in Shizuoka, known as the "Hobby City."
Current Gunpla - Assembly
■ For ease of assembly
After 35 years, Gunpla technology has also evolved.
Thanks to the introduction of snap-fit and multi-color molding techniques, assembly requires no glue, and a colorful finish is possible even without painting. It can be assembled with just a pair of nippers.
It can be easily assembled by simply fitting the parts together, without the need for adhesives or other bonding agents.
This molding method uses a special technique called "multicolor molding" to reproduce several colors simultaneously on a single runner. The result is a colorful finish simply by assembling the model.
